Happy Beauty Tuesday, beauties! Today is all about neutral nails, they are great for almost any occasion!

When it comes to everyday makeup, I really can't justify wearing expensive makeup to pop down to grab milk, if you are finding yourself in the same boat, this blog post is for you! All of these pieces are around or under the $10 mark, and are all sourced from Ulta, though they can be picked up from a variety of shops. For mascara, I have stuck around the $10 mark and am including my top 3 picks, they definitely don't produce the same results, and are all great go-tos. The Lash Sensational Mascara from Maybelline has a stand out brush, it is actually the first patented fanning brush, and for good reason too, the brush is my favorite thing about this mascara and gives you complete coverage on every lash! The LashBlast Volume Mascara by Covergirl and I have definitely taken a break since highschool, but that definitely doesn't mean it doesn't give your lashes a major boost, I may just need to pick up another one and get back to the good ol' days! The Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara by Estee Lauder packs a punch with the name alone, and gives a lash extension look, this is definitely a smaller mascara as far as the size goes, a great travel option, or one to branch off and try! When it comes to lipstick on a budget, I like to stay around the $5 mark only because it doesn't stay put and my coffee cup definitely doesn't need to be wearing $30 lipstick! The LA Girl Matte Lipstick is a great matte option, with a variety of shades as well! The NYX lipstick is another matte option, and sits around the $5 mark as well, again so many shades with this one! The e.l.f lipstick is a little different than the other two options, as it is enriched with Shae and Vitamins A, C & E to hydrate your lips. Eyebrows are definitely something that I can't skip IRL, and have tried a variety of products, for me, a brow pencil or definer is always the winner, whether it be a $4 pencil or upwards of $25. Today we will include options in the $5 to $10 range. I love this Ulta Slim Brow Pencil for the dual action look and the matte finish, it comes in a variety of shades, being a solid option for almost anyone! The NYX Eyebrow Powder Pencil is another go to, especially on laid back errands days as the powder pencil creates a very natural look. The Milani Eyebrow Pencil is a thicker option than the first and comes in just two shades (at Ulta anyways), if the shade fits it's a great option for faster and fuller shaded brows. The Milani Stay Put Brow Color is a different style of application compared to the other three, but comes with amazing "never turning back" reviews! When it comes to eyeshadow, I only use it on special occasions, only because I have eczema on my eyelids which is quite controlled UNTIL I put eyeshadow on, and then it flares up rather quickly and badly! However, if I was to buy eyeshadow at a certain budget friendly price point, I would go for a smaller $10 palette with shades I would consistently be using, to eliminate product (and money) waste! The LA Girl Nudes palette comes with a great collection of nude varieties, making combinations perfect for almost any season! The Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow is definitely a proven product on my end, and comes with zero product waste along with 8 shade options! Similar to eyeshadow, I rarely use foundation due to how irritated most foundations make my face, though I have one tried and true budget friendly recommendation! The Fit me dewy and smooth foundation by Maybelline comes in a variety of shades and is so light weight! When it comes to concealers, I tend to go for smaller tubes / palettes to ensure little to no product waste! The e.l.f corrective concealer is a great all in one option from neutralizing to brightening. The Sleek concealer palette is a great trio of correcting, concealing and setting! I haven't included a bronzer or blush powder option, only because it is not always used for an everyday look, and so little is used when it is, there are so many great brands around the $10-15 mark as they are smaller! I hope you've found this helpful and we'll see you beauties next Tuesday for Beauty Tuesday, and always on the 'gram at instagram.com/fakeflowersreallove Okay, let's just dive in right away to this because the more I think of the care some feet need, the more visual the image in my head gets, and the more grossed out I get. My feet are pretty average and far from naturally smooth, so a little help here and there can really go a long way. There is a mask for your face, hair and you've guessed it- your feet too! Take a look at my top 3 footcare picks! The Baby Foot peel, definitely leaves your feet feeling like fresh and new baby footsies. The easiest place to find the Baby Foot peel is probably Amazon at around the $20-25 mark, once you have the peel it is a 3 step process, the first is cutting out the booties and securing them on, the second is wearing them for one hour and the third part is the peeling process. The peeling process starts around day 4 and peels for two weeks! Not only does the peel exfoliate away unwanted skin, it treats foot odor, athlete’s foot, dry, rough, cracked skin, and helps with blood circulation as well!
The Smile foot peeling mask is also easily found on Amazon and stits around the $15 mark and is similar to a face mask in that it is quick and leaves your skin feeling smooth, a little less of a process and a good temporary fix. The super peeling liquid is another Amazon find, at the $20 mark and is similar to the Baby Foot peel as far as the process and the peel factor go, taking around two weeks for the peeling to stop and leaving your feet genuinely smooth! WITH My (lemonade) toothpaste is a brand that I instantly fell in love with for SO many reasons. From their give back program to clean ingredients and packaging with the environment in mind.

Today's blog post was something I thought would be beneficial for those that live busy, organized chaos lives but still want to both look and feel good! While I don't have the secret key to BGB I feel like I've got a decent handle on it as my life can be CRAZY! So here's to busy girls, feeling and looking good, and me writing this, day of it needing to be published, because busy amiright. 1. Know when to unwind and reboot so to speak, a weekly detox bath can reset your pH, mood, and is a great way to feel refreshed after, schedule it in to your calendar to have a 20 minute detox bath to reap the benefits for much longer than 20 mins. 2. While sometimes a shower feels like a spa day, when you have a little extra time try out a shower mask for a quick facial with almost immediate results. A clean and soft face is a major key for me! 3. After trying out lash extensions for the first time last fall, I *have* to use this as a tip only because of the time you save by not having to apply mascara or even eyeshadow, it's literally roll out of bed ready..I love it! 4. Master a "5 min makeup"- not only will you feel super accomplished getting ready in 5 mins, but you will also have more time, it's a win/win. My five minute makeup includes simple eyeshadow, brows, a lip color and mascara! 5. For me, when my nails are done I feel WAY more put together, whether it's an at home nail polish or nail salon, plus the nail salon is great for a mini break! There are my top 5 tips for busy girl beauty, mostly because I ran out of time making the post, not a surprise! In short, take the time when you have it to treat yourself, and make time when you don't, even if it's just a couple minutes!
Today’s product was a “I HAVE to have it” as soon as I came across it, it was sparkly, unique and mermaid based, what wasn’t to love?! Once I had it, I wanted to try it right away and somehow ended up having my boyfriend take the test drive on it, the point of the Mermaid Skinny Bath is to loose your bloat/water weight and in order to do so you have to crank up the heat as far as the water temp goes, for 20 mins. The bath itself is obviously hot and has you all sweated up, as my tester says it's “pretty good” and “super moisturized” (it has a ton of oils in it, which is great because such hot water would normally leave you DRY!). The major downfall on the MSB is it leaves you, anything you’ve touched and the tub SPARKLY AF, like literally sparkles E V E R Y W H E R E. I felt like all I did for weeks was cleaning up sparkles all the time.
All in all, it’s a great way to lose a little bloat, though I feel like the package and mermaid aspect is the best thing about it, the sparkles still haunt me. Last week we recommended beauty products to try, and today is similar with a slight twist as it’s all about shower must haves, let’s get started! Conditioners: I have a handful of favorite conditioners, that leave your hair feeling soft and silky, from mane and tail to soap box soaps (they have a give back program which I love even more) and my absolute must have is the bomb honey conditioning mask. Shampoos: I’ve thrown out my traditional liquid shampoo for a shampoo bar; there are tons of options outs there from Etsy to Amazon to Sephora and more. Razors: The only razor I’ll reach for it a safety razor, they are much more affordable and waaaaay better for the environment as well! Body wash / shower gel: The KORRES shower gel comes in a variety of scents and I love them all! The smell and consistency of the liquid just can’t be beat, and of course the formula! Scrubs: Otavea scrubs have been a favourite on the blog for a couple years now and they continue to be! They leave your skin feeling soft and moisturized and are a complete game changer for shaving! If you’re looking for a super affordable option, you can’t go wrong with this diy sugar scrub! Combine olive oil with brown sugar and a couple drops of essential oils, for a quick and easy sugar scrub, that leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized. One thing I love about DIY is you can reuse a glass container making it just a bit better for the environment! That’s all for this week- see ya beauties next Tuesday! It’s been a few months since we tried out and recommended a handful of beauty products, and we’re ready for round two! The Manuka Honey Face Mask certainly doesn’t make you look good while it’s on, but as soon as it comes off it does. This mask leaves your face feeling refreshed and smooth, I love that it’s not messy, and you just throw it on for ten minutes and go about your day! Less mess is always my favourite! The sliced mask collection is a little weird only because they are literally in slices! The nice thing about them being individual slices is you can put them exactly where needed. While I prefer a one sheet mask, the individual slices did leave my face feeling smooth and refreshed, plus it’s pretty unique too! Next up is the Starskin cleansing foam, and this foam is one I use in the shower just because it isn’t contained and can get a bit messy. It’s a quick shower foam mask for me that leaves my skin feeling super clean and balanced as far as oily skin goes. Leaving the masks behind and moving on to creams is the skin food cream by Weleda. This cream is beyond thick which is the perfect match for my skin when combining with makeup! I use this cream prior to applying foundation, etc as it acts as a much needed barrier. Foundations and concealers leave my skin feeling and looking red but with the skin food on, there is none of that! While this won’t be for everyone, if a good, thick cream is what you’re searching for, this is it.
If you are like me and have a box (or two) of expired, broken or unused makeup and not entirely sure what to do with them, read on! Unused makeup that is in a package can be sold fairly easily on eBay or the like, or if you prefer a send away platform, Glam Bot is a pretty cool option. If you would like a simple option, women shelters are always a great place to donate makeup and beauty products to, plus it goes to a great cause for women joining or rejoining the work force. For the expired makeup, there are a couple different options: Eyeshadows can be used as paint and can make a pretty cool animal print greeting card, all the steps and details here. Another use for eyeshadows is to turn it into nail polish, all the details here. Mascara Tubes can be washed and used for brows, removing clumps of mascara or even for birds at some nature centres! For the broken or used makeup you can: Create a lipstick pallete or mix colors to create a one of a kind color! Facial moisturizer and broken pressed powder combined makes a great tinted moisturizer I cannot wait to utilize these options and get my makeup bags and boxes under control- it goes hand in hand with spring cleaning!
With a new season brings in new tones and colors, and a great way to complete the look is with a little lipstick!
